Geography 4 Kids

If you are looking for physical geography or earth science basics, stay on this site. It's not just for geography for kids, it's for everyone. This site has an introduction to the earth sciences that includes topics on the Earth's structure, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere (for a start). If you're still not sure what to click, try our site map that lists all of the topics on the site. If you surf and get lost in all of the information, use the search function on the side of the pages.

US Department of State-Country Background Notes

Maps On Us -

Excellent mapping and routing service from Lucent Technologies (Bell Labs). In addition to detailed maps and driving directions, you can listen to your driving directions, with a choice of male or female voices. If you register (free) it will save your preferences and addresses.


PCL Map Collection -

More than 5,000 online maps of general interest ordered geographically. In addition, they have a FAQ, which includes directions for re-sizing and printing the maps, maps of special interest, historical maps, a directory of city maps around the world, and links to other map collections.

1. The United Nations Cartographic Agency has very detailed maps. To view and print them, you have to download the maps and open     them with Acrobat Reader. If you donít have this program, you can download it for free.
2. The CIA World Factbook has maps and facts about all countries
3. Mapquest has a world atlas with country maps.
4. National Geographic has a world atlas with country maps.
5. Infoplease has almanacs and atlases. Very useful.
6. The World Gazetteer has some useful information about countries, too. Find the most populous cities of your country here.
